Places to See in Istanbul Part 2

Hamams or Turkish baths have continued to fascinate tourists for centuries. The Hamams have been an integral part of the Turkish society since the 18th century as they were considered to be cash cows, generating huge business. I really feel Suleymaniye Bath was the best part our weekend in Istanbul, Turkey.

I had no idea that cheap holidays to Istanbul can be planned in such a short span of time. This large and splendid Hamam was built way back in 1557 by a master architect Sinan during the reign of Sultan Suleyman as a part of the Suleymaniye Mosque Complex. The Suleymaniye Bath is different from other Hamams as men and women are not segregated as is the case in other Hamams. Families can enjoy the facilities of the Hamam jointly.

The building is really spectacular and magnificent lending a royal feel to the place. The bath includes a cold section, a lukewarm section to help the bathers acclimatise to the heat and then the hot section and dressing. I was impressed by the quality of products used and the services offered by the professional, respectful and courteous staff members.

Even though this bath is expensive as compared to other baths in Istanbul, but it is worth every penny. I regret not having enough time to visit it for the second time before leaving Istanbul.Currently, Sunmaster is offering lots of cheap holidays to Turkey. As a holiday destination, Turkey has grown rapidly over the past few years. In fact, if the current trend continues, it’s even set to take over Spain as the No1 European holiday destination for the British. There are a number of good reasons for its ever-increasing popularity: Firstly, the exchange rate in Turkey is excellent, and offers far better value for money than the Euro currency used in other holiday destinations like Spain, Greece and Portugal. Secondly, the weather is very warm in the summer; in fact it’s one of the sunniest countries in the Mediterranean. And lastly, there’s a wonderful mix of culture, history and beaches that give real variety to all holidays to Turkey.
